Graphite Resources

The World is changing

Graphite Resources

based in Newcastle, is a forward thinking waste treatment provider offering steam autoclaving technology as an effective solution for the safe treatment of waste - a vital future resource in helping manage the 'carbon economy'.

Set up in 2002 by the Thompson brothers William and Michael, together with fellow director Richard Mair, they launched a £50m EcoParc development based at Derwenthaugh on the banks of the River Tyne in June 2008 and are actively developing other sites.

Derwenthaugh construction is already well underway and completion is set for autumn 2009.

The Team

The team is led by the Thompson brothers and fellow director Richard Mair. The former environment secretary and education secretary Lord Kenneth Baker is the non-executive chairman.

With a passion for managing the growing problem of waste, Graphite Resources is set to make a huge contribution to the environment by reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill sites by 80 per cent.
